The Bag Connection group of companies, with four plants in the U.S., process and return for safe reuse over 600,000 recovered flexible intermediate bulk containers in North America annually. The Bag Connection recycles guaranteed sling bulk bags for a wide range of commercial accounts, including many of the best known names in industry. As market leader, The Bag Connection has developed broad expertise in all aspects of bag manufacturing, refurbishing, and marketing, as well as the specialized requirements of the various applications in which bulk containers are used. The Bag Connection, Inc., also markets the Bagit System family of products, which initially was a safe, convenient, and highly cost-effective system for recycling office paper. Key to the success of the Bagit System—used in more than one million recycling stations—is its reusable bag which minimizes sorting and storage problems. The Bagit System is marketed to large institutional-type recyclers, such as universities, the military, government, large campuses of wide description, commercial property managers, and waste and recycling management firms. Because of this diverse distribution, Bagit System products are found nationwide in facilities from the largest to smallest. Initially the Bagit System consisted only of a patented rack-and-reusable bag system designed to promote and facilitate office paper recycling. The product line has since grown to include reusable bags intended for recycling in multi-family, desk-side, custodial, gardening and landscape, and public-space, as well as commercial, environments. In 1987, The Bag Connection was the recipient of Oregon’s Recycler of the Year Award. The Bag Connection companies estimate that the bulk bag recycling operations annually divert more than 2,500 tons of non-biodegradable plastics from landfills in the North America. Untold millions of pounds of paper, plastic, and glass consumables are recycled through the Bagit System each year. The Bag Connection credits its success to its commitment to customer service and exceptional product quality. The Bag Connection began operations in Dundee, Oregon in 1983. It has dramatically expanded its facilities in Oregon and now also has regional operations in Mississippi. |
